“I spent a little over a year with Hostgator. In that time, I started with a Hatchling plan for what was a WordPress brochure website (not a ton of traffic, so we didn’t need a lot from hosting). Our uptimes was bad. Really bad. We’d have 20-40 minute outages on a regular basis and load speeds were really slow. When I called, they told me that this was a function of the plan I was on. So I upgraded to the Business Plan. And NOTHING CHANGED. They just charged me more money for the same shitty service. So I migrated all my sites off of their servers. Now they’re trying to get me back. Good luck with that.”

“Host Gator has the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE and billing department. What's worse is that you can tell that they do not care that they suck at all. It's clear they do not value their customers. In one week I have had two 2 billing issues with them. One of those issues being a 421$ unauthorized charge to my account. The person on the phone couldn't care less. Most companies would offer you something because of all the trouble they caused. But no, not Host Gator. Look, at other options before deciding to work with them. While the features may be there the service will make you regret signing up. Believe me.”

“Aside from the absolutely horrendous customer service, this company has cost me money. How many times do I have to confirm that I want information transferred? Once? No. Twice? NO!. Three times? Nope! My problem is still not fixed and they blame ME! As others have said, this company is a sinking ship and apparently no one who works there really cares. “I began using Hostgator a few years ago while I was taking coding classes and haven’t really had too many issues with it. The only thing i would like to convey is that pricing could come down and be relative to the site. My site is not used for ecommerce or anything else really and the plan I have is more than I need. However when I attempted to downgrade the plan I was told I would have to “pay” to move the site??? That to me seemed rather harsh and it kind of put me off -I certainly will not and have not referred anyone to Hostgator because of it. On the up side, as far as I know I haven’t had the site go down which I think is a plus.”

“Hostgator removed my 3 sites because of 'malware' (which didn't exist) and directed me to Sitelock to have it removed. Then the heavy sales pitch began...Sitelock tried to lock me into a six month contract and when I didn't go for that, they offered to remove the malware for a one time fee of $300. I began to realize this was a hoax and I found a lot of evidence to support that - you will find it if you google 'Hostgator Sitelock Scam'.When I presented them with the evidence, I finally managed to get my sites back online and am now looking for a new host. The worst experience with a company I have ever had. Beware of Hostgator and Sitelock. You are guaranteed to have a bad experience.”

“My website was running on hostgator for last 2 years in perfect condition. Then they suddenly without notice change their policy. They reduced application pool size from 200 mb to 150 mb.My site keeps on crashing they can't increase the application pool size as its shared hosting so i have to shift to another provider but hostgator are in no mood to return the money back for the months left in the hosting plan. There support is of very poor quality.”
